    Note: It's not suggested to use Mac ApowerREC on 10.13.6 and 10.14.6 as the two versions are not stable, and you may encounter certain recording issues on these two versions.

    【ApowerREC Not Recording Issue】

    The recording time froze at '00:00:00' after beginning the recording:

    ▶▶ Solution 1

    In this case, it means the microphone access has not been turned on yet. Please kindly follow the steps below to solve this issue:

    1. Enter 'System Preferences…' from the top menu.

    2. Choose 'Security & Privacy'.

    3. Click 'Privacy' → Choose 'Microphone' → Check 'ApowerREC.app'.

    4. And if you are using Mac 10.15 system, please also make sure to check 'ApowerREC' option under the Screen Recording settings.

    Below is the link for you to download the latest compatible version:

    If solution one does not work, kindly send feedback from the program so that the program's technician can check this feedback and locate the problem for you:

    Click on the third icon at the top panel and choose 'Help', then, click 'Feedback' and leave the problem you are having with the software and send it to us.

    > Problem: Mac ApowerREC pops up the notice of noting detecting virtual sound card repeatedly.

    > Solutions: Click 'No' when the virtual sound card installation notice first pops up, then relaunch the program, and then confirm to install the virtual sound card this time when the notice pops up again. And it should be fine by then.

    【Troubleshooting 2】

    > Problem: Cannot record system sound or microphone sound.

    > Solutions:

    Please follow the steps below to check the sound settings:

    1. Make sure you have already installed apowersoft audio device when the notice pops up after launching the program.

    2. Enter the sound settings under system preferences:

    3. Then, choose apowersoft audio device in Mac sound settings.

    4. And under ApowerREC sound options, please choose your own mas's built-in system sound and plugged-in microphone device name instead of apowersoft audio device.

    And if you are still having the same issue after the settings, please kindly send support@apowersoft.com the screenshots of the sound settings of your Mac and the sound options of ApowerREC so that we can check the issue for you.

    And if it's zoom app you are recording, for now only ApowerREC's windows version allows to record zoom meeting. The mac version cannot record zoom meeting. Thank you for your support and understanding!

    I cannot start the app at all since Mojave, what can I do?

If you are on 10.14.3 system, it's suggested to download the latest version of the program from our official website.     Hey.

    I just downloaded and paid for a lifetime license. I followed the set up video, all is in order but when I press record the countdown begins and then the beep for starting recording sounds but then nothing starts to record. I even tried your solution 1 about the microphone in privacy, this is working also & checked.

    I am on macOS Mojave 10.14.6.


    I also get this when starting up every time:


    I install and restart and it says the same thing.

    I have an Apollo UAD and usb microphone set up of which I have selected in the preferences. But I did notice the System sound is greyed out.

    Could you please let me know a solution to get this working?

    I have the same problem as above, it will not record on system sound, when i go to security and privacy there is no option for microphone ?

    Microphone access is turned on. but still no sound. And the video doesn't work. Chose 'facetime camera', but it seems like it's recording my screen.

    Has anyone figured out a solution for this yet? I have been having the same problem ever since I purchased it two months ago and have emailed them over five times with no real help. Can anyone please help?

    This problem appeared spontaneously with Mac Mohave 0.14.6 and apparently has been a bane to subscribers

    for almost five months. My guess is the problem is on their end. Fortunately my subscription runs out in a month or two so I'll be looking for another screen capture tool. I think others should consider that option.

    Not working!!!


    I set up the scheduled tasks and it simply didn't work. It did not end the recording itself, and no saved file in the folder.

    I'm on mac big sur.

    Dear users, please clear the cache of the browser and visit ApowerREC page down below, then download the latest version of the program which is compatible with the latest mac system big sur.

    And for the virtual sound card issue, please click No when the installation notice pops up, and relaunch ApowerREC. Then confirm to install it when it pops up again.

    And if the solution above cannot help to solve the situation, in this case, please send feedback from the program directly so that our technician can locate the issue and help to solve the problem.

  1. Screen capture Mac Mojave with full screen, certain window or selected region. Add border, line, arrow, text, mouse effect, callout, mosaic and other shapes into your Mojave screen capture. Customize the color and size of your screen capture effects. Erase, redo, undo and delete any effect on Mac screenshots.
  2. There are two options to choose from to record your Mac's screen; you can either record the entire screen or record a particular portion. Step1: As we did earlier Press Command + Shift + 5 on your keyboard to bring up the screenshot toolbar. Step2: Click either Record Entire Screen or Record Selected Portion. Your screen will start to record.
